We Heart Seattle (WHS) volunteers and staff hold trash cleanup events throughout a wide range of Seattle’s spaces. These include areas such as current or past encampments, illegal dumping areas and places Seattle departments do not clean. Each of these cleanups occur in areas within the boundary of an elected City Councilmember.
The current City Councilmembers can be contacted by anyone with comments, suggestions or requests for services or attention. Here is a page with links to contact Councilmembers: https://www.seattle.gov/council/meet-the-council.
Voting is Your Superpower
Make sure you are a registered and informed voter. Voting is your superpower! Here are some great resources for you:
• Voter Guides/Portal – The Secretary of State prepares a Voter Guide with statements from each candidate. These are mailed to voters or can also be accessed through VoteWA.gov. The voter portal (VoteWA.gov) is an indispensable guide where you can:
o Confirm or update your registration address and other details
o See your ballot for the upcoming election
o Track your ballot’s progress through the tabulation process!
• Candidate Statements – TVW, the public affairs cable channel, records brief statements from candidates for statewide offices, including the U.S. Senate and Governor. These presentations are 2-3 minutes long and can be watched on their website.
• Cascade PBS – And, here is another voter guide along with maps and other useful information https://www.cascadepbs.org/voter-guide/washington-statewide-voter-guide-2024
